thrifting books on a rainy day
dhaka monsoon is really taking a toll on CNGs
Went to a new bookstore today! It’s in Banani and it’s known as”The Reading cafe” they have a branch in science laboratory too but that’s too small and too stuffy but its sturdy and just like a library should be. It’s packed with books, you can barely move, it’s like a grandma version of bookstores but i love it. Sitting with coffee or tea and perusing the book would be lovely.
I go into this trance and this overwhelming feeling takes over everytime i step into the bookstore. For the life of me, I can’t figure out what to buy and then stack up like 15 books and then end up buying one :/
Now, onto describing the bookstore - The beautiful furnished bookshelves and the architecture has a majestic aesthetic to it; the store also has a café which homes assorted pastries and coffee. What better way can you spend an afternoon other than residing in one of the chairs with a book and coffee while it rains cats and dogs outside?
Each of the shelves have there own specifications. There were books ranging from DC and Marvel Comics to non-fiction books. All the books are original and although some may seem a bit expensive, the quality doesn't disappoint.
Moreover, they offer special discounts and membership cards as well as bookmarks and you can purchase wrapping papers to gift someone or maybe buy it for yourself!
Since I’m into thrillers and crime novels - i got a novel called “ Hidden In Plain Sight” by Jeffery Archer
The staff is very nice too but the ambience is to die for. I can’t wait to visit this bookstore again!
Good one.
